Legendary golf champion Tiger Woods was severely injured this past February in an attempted murder-suicide. Woods’ believed his Genesis GV80 SUV was a trusted friend, driving him wherever he needed to go without a complaint. Unbeknownst to the four-time PGA champion, his appearingly trustworthy driver was plotting revenge.
Back in 2009 the GV80 was happily married to a Cadillac Escalade. They had met at a luxury SUV convention three years prior. On the surface they appeared to be the perfect couple. A match made in heaven. That all changed in November of that year when Woods publicly banged the escalade into a tree, killing her instantly. The story blew up, and while the golfer was dealing with the blow to his image and subsequent destruction of his marriage, GV80 had problems of his own.
Not only had his wife betrayed him but he now had to deal with the loss. He hated his wife as he grieved for her. He lost his job. His friends stopped coming over. Who was to blame for this? How could he reconcile the betrayal of his marriage with the loss he felt? He realized her infidelity didn’t have to be her fault. She wasn’t alone in the act. Surely she must have participated against her will. It must have been that five-time Masters Tournament winning golfer. Woods. With his money and fame, he thinks he can get away with anything.
And so, the once J.D. Power award winning hopeful hatched a plan. In 2017, he got a job working for Tiger and slowly gained his trust. On February 23rd, the cold-blooded SUV saw his opportunity. On Hawthorne Boulevard in Rancho Palo Verdes California, he attempted to murder Woods by rolling himself over while traveling over 80mph. The evil four-wheeled machine died almost instantly but Woods was able to escape with his life, though not without severe injury. With compound fractures in both of his legs, he will think twice before banging another wife into a tree.
